Are You Fit? Here Are Some Ways to Test This!

Do you want to know if you are fit? There are many men who enjoy testing their fitness levels and you can do this as well. Many athletes and working men test their fitness all the time. There are some ways you can test yours and you can start doing it today.

Plank

One of the first ways that you can test your fitness is to do a timed plank. You probably already know how to do a proper plank. You put your body level with the floor and straight. Your toes and your forearms need to be on the floor as well.

You have less than average fitness if your elbows are under your shoulders for under one minute. You are average fitness if your elbows are under your shoulders for one minute. You are above average if your elbows are under your shoulders and feet up onto a bench for one minute. You are overly fit if your feet are on the floor with your elbows under your eyes for just one minute.

Squat

squat-variations-graphics-3You can also test yourself and your fitness with a squat as well. You hold the squat with some sort of stick above your head and your hands should be put about 1 ½ times the width of your shoulders. You are less than average if you aren’t able to bend the knees at 90 degrees without any forward leaning. You are average if you are able to bend the knees over 90 degrees with the heels coming off from the floor. You are above average if you are able to complete a squat with the heels touching the floor and without any forward leaning. You are overly fit if you can hold the squat and a 40 pound bar and not the original stick.

Barbells

You can test your fitness with barbells too. You can do a barbell dead lift. You are less than average if you can lift lower than what you weigh. You are average if you can lift your bodyweight or 1 ¼ times what you weight. You are above average if you can lift 1 ¼ to 1 ½ times what you weight. You are overly fit if you can lift over 1 ½ times what you weigh.

Jumps

Another way to test your fitness levels are by doing broad jumps. You are going to be less than average if you are jumping under six feet. You are going to be average if you are jumping between six and seven feet. You are above average if you are jumping between seven and eight feet. You are overly fit if you can jump over eight feet.

These are some of the many fitness tests that you can put yourself through to test where you stand. If you are less than average, you can still push yourself to get better. If you are average, you are right where you need to be. If you want to improve even more, you can push yourself to above average. If you want to be the most fit many in your area, you can keep going until you are able to reach overly fit in all of these categories and many others too.

Testing fitness levels is something men have done around the world for many years. To be overly fit is something that many men hope they can achieve. Keep in mind what your levels are so you don’t risk injuring yourself when doing a fitness work out. The stronger you get and the more fit you get, the more intense work outs you will be able to accomplish.
